Boy, 16, appears in court charged with murder

Joshua Ingram, known as Josh to his family and friends

A trial date in July has been set for a boy of 16 who was charged with the murder of another 16-year-old boy at Seaford railway station over a £20 drug debt.

The defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is due to face trial by jury on Monday 6 July.

The boy, from Seaford, has been charged with the murder of Joshua Ingram, known as Josh to his family and friends.

He is also charged with having a knife with him when Josh, from Newhaven, was fatally stabbed on Wednesday 10 September.

The case was listed before Judge Christine Laing, the honorary recorder of Brighton and Hove, at Lewes Crown Court this morning (Friday 17 April).

The venue for the trial has yet to be decided and is expected to be at the crown court in Lewes, Hove or Brighton.

Two other boys – a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old – also face trial in the same case. The identity of the pair is also protected by law.

They have been charged with conspiring to commit grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent.

An inquest has been opened into Josh Ingram’s death and adjourned until the criminal case is complete.

The coroner’s court was told that the boy bled to death after he was stabbed in the heart.

At a previous hearing at Brighton Magistrates’ Court, Joseph Lewis, prosecuting, said that Josh was ambushed and killed over a £20 drugs debt.

Josh Ingram’s family said that he was “a cheeky chappy who was loved by many” and who was taken “far too soon”.

I wonder what Joshua Ingram feels. Does he feel remorse, numb, or indifferent to killing someone. Whatever hopes he had, now gone. Wasted lives.

Joshua was the boy who was killed. What are you talking about?

Maybe remove your comment and read things properly in future.

If / when the personnis found guilty, he should be named regardless of his age. If you’re old enough to deal drugs and kill someone you should take the consquences.
