Tipped by Kerrang!, NME and Dork for 2026, My First Time released their eponymous debut 4 track EP in March. This comprised previous singles ‘Picture Of Health’ and ‘Celebrity’, as well as new tunes ‘The Kids Are’ and ‘Wellington Boots’. This followed on from their quartet of 2025 singles; ‘Sippy Cup’, ‘Bodybag’, ‘Much Better’, and ‘Brand New’.

My First Time headed out on a rowdy UK mini-tour prior to touching down on Brighton Beach as part of The Great Escape on 15th May. Their showcase 9 tune set comprised 7 of the 8 tracks listed above as well as the unreleased ‘Squeaky Clean’ and 2024 single ‘Man Of Ill Repute’.

To coincide with the release of their latest ‘Paris, Texas’ single which dropped on 26th June, My First Time have announced their biggest UK/EU headline tour so far, with dates across the UK, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands throughout October and November. Thankfully one of these will be going down at Brighton’s Green Door Store on Monday 26th October, courtesy of FORM promoters. Grab your tickets HERE.

The band are also already confirmed for a host of festivals throughout the summer and beyond, including Mad Cool, Truck Festival, Latitude and Pitchfork Paris, with more to be announced soon.

Looking back, we were rather fortunate to have caught My First Time at Revenge in Brighton on 7th November 2025 as part of the ‘Mutations’ festival. Our account read thus:

MY FIRST TIME – Revenge (4:30pm – 5:05pm)

My First Time are a four-piece (plus a guest synth player) from Bristol. Their music is danceable in a Madchester kinda way, but with lyrics that ooze social commentary and satire that would probably be a little bit beyond some of the stars of the Madchester scene. For example, the opening song ‘Picture Of Health’ contains the lyric “I’m spending wisely on disposable vapes”. The synth player disappears after the first song, and I can’t help noticing that bassist Naia Jones is wearing fingerless mittens. It really isn’t that cold. ‘Wind Up Merchant’ crashes through the chorus. It’s taut and powerful with ace drum fills from Jordanna Forsey. There’s some cool guitar licks from James Mellen too. Isaac Stroud-Allen is a cracking frontman, engaging with the audience from the get-go. This includes jumping into the audience a couple of times. I’m surprised at how low on the bill this band are. Indeed, they’re one of my discoveries of the festival.

Tickets for forthcoming My First Time concerts can be found HERE.
