Brighton’s Upside Down House is now set to stay on the seafront until 2023 after the council extended its lease.

The attraction opened last summer after being given temporary planning permission.

Last month, the permission was made permanent, and the lease extended for another three years.

Meanwhile, the house will be re-opening again on Saturday, but with only 12 people in the house and a staff member on hand to ensure social distancing.

A spokeswoman said: “Our lease has officially been extended to 2023 and we are thrilled to be staying in Brighton for at least the next three years.

“Beyond that, as I’m sure you can understand, it really is too soon to comment on any further extensions to the lease; but it goes without saying that we absolutely love our house on the Brighton Seafront and don’t have any plans to leave.”

Other measures to keep the house, which provides a backdrop for people to take pictures of themselves seemingly floating upside down in a variety of different rooms, include asking people to wear masks.

Disposable masks will be provided for those who need them, as well as anti-bacterial hand gel which must be used on entry and exit.

The house will be thoroughly deep cleaned on a daily bais.

It is strongly recommended that guests use card payment only, and where possible book in advance online at www.upsidedownhouse.co.uk.
