Fire crews from Brighton and Hove tackled three fires that they believe were started deliberately at the weekend.
Yesterday evening (Sunday 27 May) Brighton firefighters were called to Coney Wood in Mill Road, Patcham, just after 7pm.
They spent just over half an hour at the scene and called in colleagues from Sussex Police.
Earlier yesterday firefighters from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service tackled a car fire in Stanmer Park.
They were called just before 11am and the car still smoking but burnt out. The two crews spent just under an hour dealing with the incident.
And on Saturday (26 May) Brighton firefighters were called out to investigate a fire reported to be at the back of the skate ramp in Coney Woods off London Road.
A crew was sent just after 10am and spent about half an hour there, finding a small fire in the wood.
They managed to get the fire under control and spent time damping it down to ensure that it was fully out.
Minutes after dealing with the Coney Woods fire, three crews from Brighton and Hove were called out to a house fire in St Leonard’s Road, Hove.
An hour later two fire crews from Brighton dealt with a motorhome that accidentally caught fire in Eastwick Close in Patcham.
And later, in mid-afternoon, four fire crews were sent to the Bristol Estate to put out a kitchen fire which started in an oven.
