A 21-year-old drug dealer from Hove has been jailed for two and a half years.

Fergus Blair, 21, of Brunswick Terrace, was sentenced at Blackfriars Crown Court in Central London on Friday.

He was jailed after pleading guilty to having Class A and C drugs with intent to supply.

He also admitted three counts of having and acquiring criminal property. The court ordered that the charges lie on file.

Jailed drug dealer Fergus Blair

British Transport Police (BTP) officers stopped Blair at Waterloo Station in London on Saturday 3 April.

He had been seen “ambling around” with white power under his nose.

When questioned he admitted to having taken ketamine.

He was searched and – when officers found two wraps of ketamine, £5,745 cash and a new Apple laptop – he was arrested.

Officers also searched Blair’s £2,000 a month rented flat in Hove and his parents’ home in Haslemere, Surrey.

They recovered drugs worth £8,000, including mephedrone, Class A hallucinogens 2CB and DMT, and Class C compound BZMP, as well as Class C tranquilisers ketamine and diazepam.

Officers seized a handwritten drugs price list and a list detailing the names of people who owed him drug money, proving he had been supplying in the Brighton and Hove area.

Emails forensically recovered from his computer revealed that Blair was buying drugs in bulk and trying to drum up trade.

Bank statements showed that his illicit activities had brought in more than £5,500 in a 21-day period.

Detective Constable Mike Stephenson said: “When faced with the overwhelming evidence against him, including his scrawled drugs list and the email he had sent trying to drum up trade, Blair was left with no other option but to plead guilty.

“Thankfully the drugs he was intending to make a profit from did not end up on the streets and we very much welcome the 30-month sentence handed down by the court.”
