A natural play company is hoping to open a workshop in Brighton, which will lead to the creation of 40 new jobs.

Infinite Playgrounds, which makes play equipment from environmentally sourced hard woods and other natural materials, was founded in the north east and is now expanding.

It already has a small office in Heathfield, and is now looking for a permanent workspace in Brighton.

Company co-founder Helen Law, who established the Heathfield office, said: “With much of our work now taking us beyond our North East home it has become essential to establish a South East base to help us maintain our momentum. “We are seriously looking for a base in or around Brighton. The town has a ‘mini- London’ feel to it and it should be the ideal location for a creative company such as ourselves.

“Our aim is to double our production capacity by replicating what we have achieved on Tyneside. We would aim to have our Brighton base fully functioning within 24 months.

“Not only are our craftsmen specialist trained, many of them are educated to degree level. We are a company which prides itself on paying even our most junior staff the Living Wage.

“Beyond that we have an attractive and dynamic structure promoting career progression and make generous job-relating bonus payments Over the next few months we will be looking to recruit skilled craftsmen, forestry workers and tree surgeons and aim to build a team of at least six people by the end of the year.”

Infinite Playgrounds has created, delivered and installed play equipment to over 500 schools from Aberdeen to Dorset.

Wow … I’d love to see some of their creations ending up in Bevendean!
