A man from Portslade has been charged with sex offences against four women who were passengers while he worked as a bus driver.

He is due to appear in court in Brighton tomorrow (Thursday 24 November).

Sussex Police said: “A Portslade man has been charged with sexual offences against four female bus passengers in Brighton while he was employed as a bus driver.

“Mark Spalding, 28, currently a labourer, of Sheppard Way, Portslade, is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 24 November, charged with sexual assault by touching against a woman aged 21, a woman aged 30, a girl aged 14 and a girl aged 13, all between 2014 and 2015.

“He is also charged with causing or inciting each of the two girls to engage in sexual activity.

“The offences are all alleged to have happened on buses in Brighton and Hove between 2014 and 2015 while Spalding was employed as a driver by Brighton and Hove Buses.

“The charges follow an investigation by detectives from the Brighton Safeguarding Investigations Unit.”
