More than 20 people have phoned detectives investigating a knifepoint robbery at a Hove supermarket.
The calls came after an appeal on the BBC television programme Crimewatch was broadcast on Wednesday evening (26 January).
The masked armed robber stole more than £20,000 from the safe of the Co-op in Church Roada, Hove, last September.
He threatened the store manager with a knife, tied him to a chair and beat him.
The Co-op is offering a reward of £5,000 for information leading to the robber’s arrest and conviction.
Detective Constable Robin Aspin, of Sussex Police, said: “We have been really pleased with the information we’ve received as a result of the appeal and now have some significant lines of inquiry to follow up.”
The armed robber was described as an overweight 6ft tall white man with brown eyebrows, brown eyes and a northern accent.
He was wearing frayed grey jeans, a black top and glasses with no lenses.
