Hove lawyer faces jail for hurling racist abuse at flight attendant

A Hove lawyer is facing jail after spitting at and racially abusing flight staff for refusing her a fourth glass of wine on a business class trip to India.

Simone Burns, 50, of First Avenue, Hove, pleaded guilty this morning to being drunk on an aircraft and assault by beating.

Burns, also known as Simone O’Broin, called staff on board the Air India flight “Indian money-grabbing c****” in a tirade filmed by another passenger and posted on social media on Sunday 11 November last year.

Irish lady behaves in such an abusive, racist way with @airindiain crew for being refused extra drinks. Very decent AI crew behaviour. Arrested on landing. Wonder if she should have been controlled onboard with handcuffs. @JitiBhargava @Mohan_Rngnathan pic.twitter.com/kSTDmGOEm5

She described herself as an international criminal lawyer for the Palestinian people and shouted: “I have done so much for you f****** Indians and f****** Pakistanis. You should be grateful to me.”

She was also found to have been smoking in the toilets.

Burns, an Irish national, has now been committed to Isleworth Crown Court for sentencing on Thursday 4 April.

Passengers found to be intoxicated on a plane could be fined up to £5,000 and jailed for up to two years for breaching air navigation orders.

Assault by beating carries a maximum sentence of six months.

I expect she’s thoroughly ashamed of herself – the demon drink took hold but that’s no excuse – many people would benefit from being filmed when drunk then shown it when sober as that in itself is punishment enough.
If she isn’t ashamed, she deserves to go to prison.

I hope this lady has woken up to the fact that she obviously needs some professional help to control her alcohol consumption and issues as to why she drinks to this extent.

If as appears she is a dangerous racist, then an extensive course of re-education should be given to her whilst in prison.

When she was helping people around the world she was “British”. Now she’s “”Irish”.

Racist scum, I’d like all her legal cases looked at because she clearly doesn’t care about the law or society!
