One parking warden is attacked or abused every week in Brighton and Hove

Brighton Magistrates' Court

A vegan activist from Brighton faces trial for confronting two people because she believed them to be wearing fur.

Dylan Roffey, 24, of Terminus Road, Brighton, faces charges of assault by beating and using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

Victoria Grey, prosecuting, told the court that Roffey approached and attacked two members of the public on separate occasions.

The offences were alleged to have taken place on a train at Gatwick airport last December and at Brighton station in January.

She pleaded not guilty to both charges when she appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (4 July).

District judge Amanda Kelly was told that Roffey accepted that she was present on the train and that there was “an exchange” or “a verbal altercation”.

But she did not believe that it amounted to enough to cause harassment, alarm or distress to the complainant Adam Alkindy.

And while security camera footage showed that she spoke to the second complainant, Rhiannon Boyle, at Brighton station, Roffey said that she “does not recall this particular exchange”.

Roffey appeared in court wearing a t-shirt bearing the words “Meat the victim”.

She was remanded on unconditional bail until Monday 2 September when she faces trial at Brighton Magistrates’ Court.

She is simply an unprincipled vegan liar. Caught out she feels she can lie her way out of her despicable behaviour. Give her a criminal record then others like her will think twice about being pathetic numpties.
