Froth

Froth

Froth formed in Los Angeles in 2012 and are a trio that consists of JooJoo Ashworth (vocals/guitar), Jeremy Katz (guitar/bass) and Cameron Allen (drums). They are coming over to these shores for an exclusive 5-date UK tour in September that kicks off on Sunday 8th September at the Komedia studio located at 44 Gardner Street, Brighton from 7:30pm to 10:30pm. The remaining three dates take in Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and London.

They are coming here in support of their brand new ten track album entitled ‘Duress’, which was launched on 7th June. You can check it out HERE.

You can watch their latest video for their track entitled ‘77’ which is included on the new release HERE.

Froth

The band first garnered attention with their debut LP, ‘Patterns’ which came out mid 2013. It was originally intended as a small-run cassette release, however the album quickly became an underground sensation in the Southern California music scene, catapulting the band to local fame and prompting a vinyl re-release in 2014.

2015 saw the release of the band’s sophomore album, ‘Bleak’. A more dynamic, adventurous effort, the record matches lush shoegaze soundscapes with driving krautrock beats, and earned the band press attention from outlets including NPR Music, Noisey, Vogue.com, and Stereogum, among others. Froth toured extensively across the U.S. and Europe in support of the album, opening for acts such as The Drums, Tamaryn, Pond and Craft Spells.

Froth have now returned with their most fully realised work to date, in ‘Duress’ out on Wichita Recordings. Co-produced with longtime friend and collaborator Tomas Dolas (Oh Sees/Mr. Elevator), the record is unapologetically experimental yet undeniably accessible. It’s an impressive and self-assured statement from a group only just entering their prime.

With ‘Duress’, Froth has finally been able to realise their vision without compromise. Mirroring their open-minded studio approach, Froth’s live show is equally enthralling in its incorporation of analog synthesizers, overdubs and drum machines.

Grab your tickets for their Brighton performance HERE.

Listen to (and hopefully purchase) their material on their Bandcamp page HERE.
