Brighton couple racially abuse Brighton mother and children on bus

Sussex Police today released CCTV images of a man and a woman who racially abused a mother and her two young children on a bus.

The mother, from Brighton, has a southern European/Mediterranean appearance.

She was on the 81 bus in Elm Grove with her children aged 5 and 7 when an elderly couple directed racist abuse at her on Monday 14 June.

PC Tash Swan said: “Racist abuse is inexcusable and will not be tolerated by Sussex Police.

“The victim was with her two young children and was highly distressed by the unprovoked verbal attack.

“I´m appealing to any witnesses or to anyone who thinks they recognise this couple to contact us immediately.”

The woman is described as white, in her mid to late 60s, 5ft 4in tall, slightly overweight, with short white layered straight hair.

She was wearing a dark green khaki-style coat with a beige top underneath and was reading a Metro newspaper.

The man, who is believed to be the woman´s husband, is described as white, in his mid to late 60s, 5ft 6in tall, slightly overweight, with a round face and white hair and balding on top.
