Five people have been arrested after a man fell from a fourth-floor window in Brighton in the early hours of this morning.
They are being held on suspicion of seriously assaulting the 25-year-old man, who fell from a building in Chadborn Close, Whitehawk.
The 25-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital with head injuries.
He was taken from the Bristol Estate to the Royal Sussex County Hospital near by in Eastern Road, Brighton, before being transferred to Hurstwood Park Neurosciences Centre in Haywards Heath.
The five suspects – three men and two women – are due to be questioned this afternoon about the fall, which is believed to have happened shortly before 3am during a new year party.
