A Peacehaven motorcyclist died after a crash involving five other cars and vans.

The 52-year-old man lost his life on the M23 just after junction 10a by Maidenbower at about 6.10am on Saturday (8 January).

The drivers of the three cars and two vans involved in the accident on the northbound side of the road were all unhurt.

Their vehicles were not badly damaged but the motorway was closed in both directions for several hours while emergency services and Highways Agency staff worked at the scene.

A Sussex Police spokesman urged anyone who saw the accident or what led up to it to call 0845 6070999.
