A man died on the beach in Hove this afternoon (Saturday 2 July).
Two off-duty doctors tried to revive the man without success after he was found to have stopped breathing.
He was declared dead less than 40 minutes after the alarm was raised.
Sussex Police said that the incident was reported at about 3.45pm and that the death was not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesman for the force said that officers were trying to trace the man’s next of kin.
Last weekend the bodies of two men were brought ashore to the beach in Brighton in the space of a few hours.
