Police in Brighton are trying to trace the owner of a black Nikon SLR camera which they believe was stolen in the run up to Christmas.
The camera was seized by police on Tuesday 18 December.
Sussex Police said that the camera was believed to have been stolen although officers had been unable to trace its owner.
Sergeant Dave Bennett, from the Brighton Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We would like to hear from anyone who has lost or believes they may have had stolen a camera matching the description.
“Unfortunately we have no further details as to where or when this may have taken place.”
On Tuesday 18 December two 20-year-old men from Peacehaven and a 17-year-old boy from Newhaven were arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods.
They were bailed until Tuesday 29 January while officers make further inquiries.
Anyone who has information about the owner of the camera is asked to contact Sussex Police on 101.
