Brighton tax fraud suspect arrested
A man has been arrested on suspicion of defrauding people in Brighton over tax rebates.
Sussex Police said that officers were investigating a number of cases of fraud in relation to tax rebates in the Brighton and East Sussex areas from April 2011 to April last year.
The force said: “Officers have reason to believe there may be more people who have been victims and are urging anyone with concerns to come forward.”
A 51-year-old man from Eastbourne has been arrested on suspicion of fraud.
He has been released on police bail until Sunday 3 February while officers continue their investigations.
