Two men from Brighton were arrested minutes after a man was mugged close to the seafront in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday 26 February).
A 29-year old local man was attacked from behind in Charlotte Street, Brighton, at about 3.15am.
He was robbed of his wallet and mobile phone.
Sussex Police officers immediately searched the area and within ten minutes two men, both 21 and from Brighton, were arrested near by on suspicion of robbery.
The wallet and phone were recovered.
The two suspects are currently in custody awaiting interview.
The victim was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with head injuries. He was expected to be discharged later in the day.
