A Brighton man has been sent for crown court trial on a charge of helping an armed robber.
A date has yet to be fixed for Gerard Shelbourne, 52, unemployed, of Chiddingly Close in Whitehawk, to appear in the crown court.
He was brought to the dock at Brighton Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Thursday 16 May) having been arrested by Sussex Police on Tuesday (14 May).
The charge said that Shelbourne provided gloves and a hat to help or encourage another man to carry out an armed robbery.
He is suspected of carrying out the offences in Brighton on Saturday 11 May.
He faces prosecution under the Serious Crime Act 2007.
