Brighton pro-Palestinian campaigners protest about Israel’s shelling of Gaza

Dozens of pro-Palestinian campaigners took to the streets of Brighton this afternoon (Sunday 20 July) to protest about Israel’s shelling of Gaza.

After a vigil and rally at the Old Steine War Memorial they marched through the city centre, including Queen’s Road, Western Road and North Street.

The event was organised by the Brighton and Hove Palestine Solidarity Campaign.

Members of the local group also went to London yesterday (Saturday 19 July) for the march from Downing Street to the Israeli embassy.

Similar demonstrations were held in other cities around the world.

The Brighton and Hove group said on its website: “The brutal siege of Gaza continues. The slaughter and suffering continue.

“Many of us feel outraged by israel’s impunity and the lack of condemnation from the international community.”

Below is a tweet from the ranks of the PLO – not the Palestine Liberation Organisation but the Police Liaison Officers working for Sussex Police.

Shame on you TG with your offensive pseudonym and your offensive comment
Have you seen the photos of half a child being loaded into the back of a pickup, held by one ankle ?
Half a child is half a child, whether Israeli or Palestinian
Whether killed by an Israeli airstrike or a Hamas rocket
Time to grow up, TG, however old you are

As soon as the Hamas terror group stop indescriminatly lobbing rockets at the civilian Israeli population, then military action will stop.

If the Palestinians gave-up their weapons, there would be peace in the area; when will Hamas remove the section of their charter that calls for the death of every Jewish man, woman and child? You are, of course, familiar with the part of the Hamas charter that calls for (quote) “the destruction of Israel by Islamic jihad” (unquote).

    Aren’t you?

And where have you read the Hamas charter? If you know so much about it, calling yourself Pork William oh ha ha, put that charter on here for everyone to read. I take no account of trolls, but do welcome serious debate. So if you have the Hamas charter, which no doubt a passing Hamas member happened to give you, or maybe you killed him first then got it off his corpse, how handy, how kind, let us all see it!
The Israeli governmentl has no charter, it is just practising terrorism of its own and it must stop.
It’s just this kind of extreme thinking that has fuelled this bloodshed. It’s not helping.
You do know that a lot of Israelis are also condemning this carnage in Gaza.
    Don’t you?

FYI More than 500 (not dozens of) people in Brighton took part in Sundays vigil and march against the latest Israeli attack on Gaza. This is the third such attack in recent years, aimed at wiping out resistance to Israel’s illegal occupation of Palestine and all part of the pattern of Israel’s vicious war against the Palestinian people that has been going on for more than 60 years in defiance of international law.

You can read the Hamas charter on Hamas’ own website (Ezzedeen Al-Qassam).

The more that pro-Palestinian sympathisers like Reem continue to defend Islamic terrorism against innocent Israeli citizens, the more foolish they make themselves look; it’s like watching a car-crash in slow motion.

Don’t you think that the formation of Hamas and the Ezzedeen Al-Qassam Brigades are just natural consequences of Israel’s awesome communication skills?
If Israel continues on this path, at some point, all the violence, aggression and hate will eventually turn against it, I’m afraid!

Don’t read this if you don’t want to give it a thought.
