Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Jake Forster-Caskey has been called up for the England Under-21 squad.
The 20-year-old was named by England Under-21s boss Gareth Southgate as part of his 23-man squad for next week’s Euro play-off against Croatia.
The first leg is due to be played at the Molineux home of Wolverhampton Wanderers next Friday (10 October) with the second leg in Vinkovci the following Tuesday (14 October).
If England win, they will play in the European finals in the Czech Republic next summer.
Forster-Caskey, who was named in the squad alongside Solly March earlier this year, made his debut as a sub against Wales.
He has already represented England in under-16, under-17, under-18 and under-20 sides and captained the under-17s.
But he won’t be playing this weekend. Forster-Caskey is suspended for Albion’s visit to Vicarage Road when the Seagulls take on Watford on Saturday (4 October). He picked up a fifth yellow card as Brighton drew 1-1 with Cardiff City at the Amex on Tuesday (30 September).
Albion goalkeeper Christian Walton has also been called up by England Under-20s boss Aidy Boothroyd.
His side will play three games in the Netherlands over five days as part of a four-nation tournament with Holland, Germany and Turkey next week.
