A moped was stolen last night and set on fire at the Preston Park Velodrome.
Firefighters were called to the blaze at 8.41pm and a crew from Hove used a hose reel to put out the fire.
Sussex Police have now appealed for anyone who knows about the theft to come forward.
A spokesperson said: “At 8.25pm on Wednesday (11 March) two men were seen to steal a parked moped in Osborne Road, Brighton, and wheel it to the nearby Preston Park Velodrome where it was set on fire.
“Anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact police via 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101, quoting serial 1508 of 11/3.”
