The full list of candidates standing for election to Brighton and Hove City Council on Thursday 7 May has been published.

The name and party of each of the 236 candidates in all 21 wards was published this morning (Friday 10 April).

Nominations closed yesterday (Thursday 9 April) at 4pm.

The Greens, Conservatives and Labour are contesting all 54 seats across the 21 wards.

The Liberal Democrats are fielding 29 candidates in 19 wards.

UKIP is fielding 25 candidates in 13 wards.

Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition is fielding 13 candidates in 13 wards.

Left Unity is fielding two candidates in two wards.

The Monster Raving Loony Party has one candidate and there are four Independents – two of them in the same ward, Wish.

Nineteen members of the council are stepping down while another councillor, Chaun Wilson, said that she was stepping down from her safe Labour seat in East Brighton for family reasons. She will be on the ballot paper in Patcham but, because it is a safe Conservative seat, she is unlikely to remain a councillor.

The full list of candidates is below.

Is Patcham a “safe Conservative seat”? The result in 2011 was interesting.

Strange – I haven’t seen anything of you in North Portslade – other than the single election leaflet?

And I’ve seen absolutely nothing about Jane Prisley, nor Sharon Hamlin – no doorstep calls or leaflets or anything.

In comparison, the Conservatives, Labour and UKIP are bombarding me with election material.

Have the greens given up with trying to win anything away from Brighton Pavilion?
