By Tim Hodges from The Albion Press Conference.
Chris Hughton told Brighton & Hove News today that he expects a tough match at Walsall.
The Sadlers beat Coventry City at the weekend and are currently second in League One .
Hughton said ” I think around eight championship teams went out of the competition in the last round and we needed a last minute winner at Southend to get to this stage , so I would expect nothing less than a very difficult game.
When asked in relation to fringe players such as Inigo Calderon and Danny Holla Hughton said he would use the squad and that the Albion “have few injuries and a great competition for places. I expect to put out a team that wants to win and it’s important to get through to the next round”.
Hughton said of the League Cup that it shouldn’t be seen as a hiderence. “It can give you some momentum and allows players to build confidence and allows those who may be having a difficult time the chance to score some goals. He went on “unless you’re having some problems perhaps with injuries then it’s no different t the game last midweek agianst Huddersfield (in the League) and we need to approaching in the same way with the same mentality”.
Albion take on Huddersfield Tuesday 25th at 7:45pm.
