A man from Portslade has this evening been charged with the murder of 19-year-old Shana Grice at her home in Mile Oak eight days ago.
Michael Lane, 27, of Thornhill Rise, Portslade, has been remanded in custody. He is due to be brought before the bench at Brighton Magistrates’ Court tomorrow morning (Saturday 3 September).
Sussex Police said: “On Friday evening (2 September), the Crown Prosecution Service approved the charging of Michael Lane with the murder of 19-year-old Shana Grice at her home in Chrisdory Road, Portslade, on Thursday 25 August.
“Lane, 27, a tyre and exhaust fitter, of Thornhill Rise, Portslade, has been remanded in custody to appear before Brighton magistrates on Saturday (September 3).
