Woman cut free after car crash in Hove
A woman was cut from the wreckage of a crash in Hove early this morning (Wednesday 21 December).
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 6.42am two appliances from Brighton and Hove were sent to Sackville Road, in Hove, where they attended a road traffic collision involving one van and a car.
“Firefighters released one female from the wreckage using hydraulic cutting equipment.”
In the small hours they were called out after reports of a chimney fire.
The fire service said: “At 12.43am this morning Hove firefighters were sent to Woodruff Avenue, in Hove, following reports of a chimney fire. A home safety visit was carried out at the property.
“At 11.12pm yesterday (Tuesday 20 December) Brighton firefighters were sent to Nelson Row, in Brighton, after a deliberate fire in a communal bin was reported.
“One hose reel jet was used to tackle the fire.”
