Albion down to second after Preston loss
Preston North End 2 Brighton & Hove Albion 0
Albion drop to second in the Championship after losing for the first time in 18 league matches, at Deepdale.
Goals in each half from Paul Huntington and Callum Robinson sealed the Seagulls’ fate.
Albion’s best chances fell to Glenn Murray.
One positive for the Albion was the return to league action for Beram Kayal.
Kayal replaced Steve Sidwell on 73 minutes and tried to drive Albion forward in the closing stages. Sadly to no avail.
The Seagulls, who hadn’t lost a league game since a 2-0 defeat at Newcastle in August, next take on Sheffield Wednesday this coming Friday (20 January) at the Amex.
Cardiff City are due to visit for their rearranged fixture four days later.
