Albion lost for the second time in a few days at AFC Bournemouth but this time to an extra time goal from Joshua King.
Chris Hughton gave full debuts to Tim Krul, Jose Izquierdo and Ezequiel Schelotto.
Albion’s tormentor from Friday, Jordan Ibe, had a couple of chances for the Cherries. As did Izquierdo and Jiri Skalak for Albion.
The second half was mainly Bournemouth trying to break Albion down.
Albion’s best chance fell to Jamie Murphy who sliced wide when clean through.
With the scores level at full time it was just before the 100 minute mark that King exchanged a one-two with Marc Pugh and fired past Krul.
Albion get back to Premier League action with a Sky Super Sunday clash with Newcastle at the Amex, this Sunday (24 September) at 4pm.
