An elderly driver was left shocked after a ladder smashed through her car windscreen after falling off the back of a lorry.
Sussex Police issued a public appeal for witnesses and even dash cam footage this afternoon (Tuesday 5 December).
The woman, in her seventies, was driving a silver Ford Focus along the main seafront road in Rottingdean when her car was hit.
The force said: “Police are appealing for witnesses after a ladder came off a lorry and smashed the front windscreen of a car in Rottingdean.
“The car was driving along the A259 in Rottingdean at 4.45pm on Thursday 23 November when the collision occurred.
“The car was subsequently written off.
“The elderly driver of the car was visibly shaken by this incident and as a result is suffering from shock.
“It is believed the ladder was not securely fastened to the top of the lorry and it has slipped off in transit.
