Rottingdean Tesco held up at knife-point


Police are searching for a man who carried out a knife-point robbery at a convenience shop in Rottingdean.

Just before 9pm on Tuesday (2 October) the man entered Tesco Express in West Street, Rottingdean, threatened staff with a knife, and took several pounds from the tills and ran off. Nobody was hurt.

He is described as white, of stocky build, about 6ft 2in, and was wearing a light grey Emporio Armani hooded top with a large white motif on the chest and the top of the hood. The hood was up. he also wore a pair of light grey tracksuit bottoms and a black face covering, possibly a scarf or balaclava, and light grey gloves.

Detective Inspector Ian Still said; “This is a busy spot at the bottom of the High Street and the junction with the A259 South Coast Road.

“If you were passing by on Tuesday evening and saw this man or have any other information, please contact us online or by calling 101, quoting serial 1199 of 02/10.”

    In Rottingdean? Of all places? This is absolutely unacceptable.

    I hope that the Police catch these naughty, wicked scoundrels and beat them in a harsh and forceful manner.

    Why can’t these people stick to their estates, rather than causing mischief in nice areas?

      I presume you must know the individual them Alan if you know he was from an Estate
