Police in Brighton are searching for 28-year-old Joshua Coomber, known as Josh.
They want to interview him “about allegations of assault and breach of a court restraining order in relation to a woman known to him in the city”, Sussex Police said.
The force said: “The restraining order, which prohibits him from approaching or contacting the woman, was issued by Brighton magistrates earlier this year.
“He is described as white, 5ft 8in, of medium build, with blue eyes and brown hair.”
Detective Inspector Simon Morgan said: “Coomber may still be in the Brighton area and anyone who sees him or knows where he is should contact us right away on 101 quoting serial 206 of 01/10.
