Weather’s changed – need cheering up tonight?

Oh pants! Where’s the sun gone? I seriously need cheering up. I know I’ll go to a gig in Brighton this evening and have some fun. Looks to me as the best option is to head on down to the charismatic Green Door Store at 3 Trafalgar Street and take in four bands for only £6.

The Brighton based ‘Ban The Disco’ promoters who are Wilf and Rachel, have assembled a quartet of choice acts to appear at the venue this evening, with the doors swinging open from 7:30pm and the event will be running until 11pm. So that’s plenty of time to enjoy the acts and grab a (reusable) glass of your favourite tipple.

Topping the bill are a Glaswegian based shouty synth-punk sextet called Damn Teeth, who are Paul McArthur, Sean Campbell, Stewart Allan, Seonaid Stevenson, Kate Stonestreet and Niall Sinclair and they are on their UK tour at present, and have already hot-footed it from last nights gig in London at The Old Blue Last. Brighton’s very own noise merchant duo Human Leather are also on the bill this evening. You won’t believe how much energy they can create between the two of them. Listen to them HERE if you dare. Ear defenders at the ready!

One of our fave local bands Swoon are also in attendance this evening. Their personnel are Alice Guala (vocals), Adam Macaulay (keys/programming/guitar/vocals), Chris Lelliott (bass/guitar/vocals) and James Aslett (drums) and they will be performing new single ‘BUBBLE’ as part of their enjoyable set. The awesome tune was written all about the Brighton music scene! Listen to them HERE.

Getting the ball rolling tonight will be Brighton punks Plastics  and it all kicks off tonight (18th July) at the Green Door Store. Grab your tickets on the door. The venue is located below Brighton mainline railway station.
