Albion came close to snatching a draw at Liverpool, almost coming back from being two goals down.

Former Seagulls transfer target Virgil van Dijk put the home side two goals in front within 24 minutes.

And Maty Ryan made several good saves to prevent Albion from going further behind.

Albion took the game to Liverpool and penned the league leaders back for large parts of the match.

With 15 minutes left, Liverpool goalkeeper Allison was sent off for a deliberate hand ball.

From the resulting free kick, Albion captain Lewis Dunk scored.

The Seagulls had chances to equalise through Aaron Mooy and Neal Maupay who both drew good saves from under pressure substitute keeper Adrian.

Albion drop to 15th and take on managerless Arsenal at the Emirates next Thursday (5 December), followed by Wolves at the Amex on Sunday 8 December – both Premier League fixtures.
