Electric bike theft CCTV released

Police are appealing for information after an electric bike was stolen from Hove Lagoon.

On November 6, between 11am and 11.15am, a bike was taken from outside of the Hove Lagoon Café.

We would like to speak with the men seen in the picture as they may be able to assist our enquiries.

If you have any information which could aid identification, you can make a report online or by calling 101 quoting reference 467 of 06/11.

Three men seen in the picture? That has got to be a joke.

Interesting, my £1,000.00 bike was recently stolen from outside of Sussex hospital & all I got was sorry there is nothing we can do but we will add it to our map of recorded crimes for the area. Now I’ve had to save up and get a new one ( with 3 D-locks, try taking this one!)

Each d lock will take 30 seconds to cut through. You’re better off with one good one.

Be careful for what you wish for. By the way, the police interested in crime. My God!

If only they’d put the same effort into catching and prosecuting graffiti vandals.

The amount of expensive bikes I’ve seen with rubbish locks on , I had a bike nicked a few years ago , not an expensive bike but a bike ide done up myself and had a crappy lock on and it was gone and never seen again .. Now I always use at least one good D lock . I’ve seen people leave expensive bikes outside a shop unlocked with a D lock hanging off the handle bars ? Come on people ! Lock em up ! Cable locks are an easy cut through . And don’t just lock the front wheel up with a quick release wheel or you’ll just have a wheel left . Think on ! Oh I’ll only be 30 seconds , only takes 5 seconds for a thief to be gone !

I wonder if an expensive lock signals an expensive bike.
For nearly a decade I’ve been using a cable combination lock which is a complete joke: sometimes it’ll change codes on me and I’ll have to spend a whole minute cracking the new code..
Never had my bike stolen, though I don’t have to leave it outside overnight.

It would be so easy to catch them but the police can’t be bothered. Low level crime is encouraged by thus government as it increases GDP. All that is needed is dummy bikes laden with GPS trackers put in the locations where bikes are stolen and go to their houses when they have the bikes. It’s that easy.

If bike sales were as subsidised as car sales I’d expect the government to suddenly change their priorities..

November 6th at 11am . Where were you ? There’s probably been a couple of hundred bikes stolen since then for which no action is taken
