A man with a shotgun was arrested by armed police earlier today (Tuesday 13 May).
Carden Avenue, in Brighton, was closed briefly while officers dealt with the incident.
Sussex Police said: “Armed officers responded to a report of a man who had threatened to harm himself at an address in Carden Avenue, Brighton, on Tuesday (13 May) at 11.25am.
“A 44-year-old man was located and arrested on suspicion of suspicion of possessing a shotgun without a licence and taken to custody.
“The road was closed for a short time while the incident was dealt with.
“There was no wider threat to the public.”
