Man arrested over calls to target Jewish businesses with stink bombs

A 44-year-old man has been arrested after a social media post called for Jewish businesses and synagogues to be “targeted with stink bombs”.

The post, which appeared to be a comment in the Brighton and Hove Palestine Solidarity Campaign online group, also suggested throwing “ripe fruit and eggs” at synagogues.

It ended with a reference to “roasted synagogues”.

Sussex Police said officers attended an address in Newhaven on Sunday afternoon after receiving reports of threatening comments posted on social media.

The man was arrested on suspicion of four offences: sending offensive, indecent, obscene, or menacing messages; using threatening words to stir up religious hatred; making threats to damage or destroy property; and possessing a class B drug.

He remained in custody as of Sunday evening, the force said.

“We acknowledge the deep distress and concern that can be caused by threatening, hateful and anti-Semitic messages to members of the Jewish community, and the wider public,” detective chief superintendent Richard McDonagh said.

“Threats of any kind are completely unacceptable, and anyone who seeks to target individuals within communities of any faith group can expect a robust response.

“A man is in custody, and we urge people not to speculate to allow our full and thorough investigation to take place.”

These groups. Instead of promoting peace, they promote taking a side and perpetuating the hatred and warfare.
What the hell is wrong with people?

In Brighton, at the clock tower every weekend, we are assaulted with ranting from unhinged fools with a megaphone and idiot followers waving flags, insisting that we hear what they think, whether it’s about world conflict, religion, being vegan, or what colour pants they chose to wear today. Why do I need to know the s**t that is in their brain?
Why can’t I just walk in town without being bombarded with this crusading crap?

Please bring back residential mental institutions that can accommodate these a$$holes.

Too many lefty brain dead people about, and what’s wrong with Mosques, perhaps they could do the same to them.

Goodness knows why Brighton and Hove has become a particular flashpoint for protesting about international conflicts, but please stop it. These fall far outside the city council’s jurisdiction, whatever its other failings and both sides are looking increasingly ridiculous. At the very least, get the train to Westminster to protest and stop wasting your breath – and our city’s Police budget – outside Brighton clock tower.

Yesterday there was a guy walking past Itsu with a JBL speaker slung around his chest blasting out at full volume some evangelical American TV preacher (sounded like) banging on about “The word of Jesus”.
The clocktower area has become nut-job central.

But the council has chosen to involve itself and has supported the lies and blood libels against the city’s model Jewish population. Disgraceful antisemitic behaviour and against the council’s own policies !

You’d think a 44-year-old man would know better.

Antisemitism is driving the nation to massive division. It is being used in much the same way as a German political party did before ww2
It is not the natural position of the majority of the UK, who are generally quite centrist.
