A Brighton man has been arrested for attempted murder after another man was attacked with a knife in the street.
The 55-year-old victim was attacked in May Road, off Elm Grove, at about 8.30pm last Friday (12 September).
He was taken to hospital where he was treated for what police describe as serious injuries.
A police spokeswoman said: “An investigation was launched, leading to the arrest of a 29-year-old man from Brighton the following day on suspicion of attempted murder.
“He has since been recalled to prison in relation to a separate case.
“Enquiries remain underway to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident, and we ask that if you witnessed what happened, or have any information which could aid the investigation, you contact police online, or by calling 101 quoting reference 1351 of 12/09.”
