A man has been fined for carrying garden waste without a licence after being stopped while driving along a Brighton street.
Dean Smith was fined £500 by Brighton magistrates after he was stopped by police in Dyke Road, Brighton, in the summer.
Smith, of Willows Caravan Site, Sandhurst, Gloucester, who failed to produce a waste carriers licence and waste transfer notes, was also ordered to pay £680 costs.
The prosecution was brought by Brighton and Hove City Council.
Smith had a large quantity of garden waste when he was stopped by officers from Sussex Police.
He had previously been fined £260 with £80 costs for having a dangerous load on his truck in a case brought by the Crown Prosecution Service.
Anyone carrying or disposing of waste as part of their business must carry a waste licence and register with the Environment Agency.
The agency maintains a public register so that people can check whether a company has a licence.
