Two men were arrested yesterday after a man was robbed at gunpoint in Brighton on Monday (16 January).
The robbers threatened the victim with a handgun and punched him in the face before stealing cash from him.
The robbery happened at a house in Islingword Street between 8pm and 10pm.
The victim knew one of the two men who are believed to have made off towards The Level after the robbery.
Detective Sergeant Chris Sherwell, of Brighton and Hove CID, said: “While it is not known whether the weapon used was real or imitation, it was an extremely frightening experience for the victim.
“If anyone was in the Islingword Road area or remembers seeing anyone matching the descriptions of the two suspects, they are urged to contact police or Crimestoppers immediately.”
The first suspect was described as white, in his late teens, 5ft 9in tall with short brown closely cropped hair. He was wearing dark clothes and light-coloured gloves.
A second suspect was described as being tanned or mixed race, in his early 20s, about 6ft tall with close cropped brown hair.
He was wearing dark clothes and a multi-coloured red, yellow and green striped scarf.
Sussex Police executed firearms warrants at three Brighton addresses – in Ann Street, Park Crescent and Manor Hill – at about 6am yesterday (Tuesday 17 January).
An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of robbery.
A second man, a 22-year-old man from Brighton, handed himself into Brighton police station at about 11am yesterday. He was also arrested on suspicion of robbery.
