Body of wanted Brighton drug dealer has been brought back to Britain from Dubai

Thomas “Tommy” Wynn

The search for a wanted Brighton drug dealer has been called off after his body was brought back to Britain from Dubai, Sussex Police said.

The force said: “A coroner in Manchester has confirmed a body repatriated from Dubai is Thomas Wynn.

“Thomas Wynn, 49, from Commercial Road, in Liverpool, was wanted in connection with a £12 million conspiracy to supply heroin from Liverpool to Brighton and Eastbourne.

“His death is not being treated as suspicious.”

Wynn was arrested in March and bailed by police while they continued their inquiries as part of Operation Wildwood.

But last month the force issued an appeal for help tracing Wynn after he failed to answer bail.

Sussex Police said: “So far 11 people have been charged under Operation Wildwood.”

They are Lea Smith, 44, of Natal Road, Brighton, Kingsley Walls 42, of Langley Crescent, Woodingdean, Lee Mack, 48, of Sheepcote Valley Caravan Park, Whitehawk, Ronnie Edwards 48, of Chiddingly Close, Whitehawk, Sean Davidson 47, of Downhill View, Woodingdean, Louis Makai, 44, of Langridge Drive, Portslade, Jon-Paul Swann, 32, of Colin Drive, Liverpool, Arthur Jones 53, of Downs Avenue, Eastbourne, Paul Shannon 58, of Compass Court, Eastbourne, and Ian Gerald Frost, 47, of St Michael’s Place, Brighton.

They have been remanded in custody for trial at Lewes Crown Court on Monday 11 April next year, charged with conspiring to supply heroin.

Julie Coltard, 41, of Langley Crescent, Woodingdean, is on bail awaiting trial on the same date charged with the same offence.

Four men and two women who were arrested on suspicion of the same offence were stood down from their bail and no action is being taken against them.

A 50-year-old Liverpool woman arrested on suspicion of the same offence is on bail until Monday 10 August.
