A Hove nursery school has been given a good report from Ofsted, the independent watchdog.
An inspector visited Funland at Bishop Hannington Church Hall, in Holmes Avenue by the junction with Wayfield Avenue, a month ago and published her report just after Christmas.
The inspector, Jacqueline Walter, sid: “Overall the quality of the provision is good.”
The last report, published three years ago, said: “The quality and standards of the care are satisfactory.
“The quality and standards of the nursery education are good.”
Funland has been running for 30 years and has eight staff and 40 children, although it is limited to 32 children during any morning – the sessions run from 9.15am to 12.15pm.
The report said: “Staff’s good knowledge of each child’s needs, good quality interaction and an effectively organised learning environment ensure that they are successful in promoting children’s learning.
“Children are enjoying their learning and make good progress, given their age, ability and starting points.
“Children’s welfare is promoted well overall with a minor weakness in the methods used regarding the promotion of behaviour management with the more able children and in some aspects of safeguarding children.
“Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are identified and supported well.
“The staff ensure the children are well integrated.”
