The Seagulls conceded their first pre-season goal as they were held at Carrow Road.

Pascal Gross gave Albion the lead after 21 minutes, only for Marley Watkins to equalise for the Canaries just before half time.

Although a competitive match, there were no further clear-cut scoring chances except when Norwich struck the woodwork in the second half.

Albion now travel to Spain to take on Girona, who are newly promoted to La Liga. The match takes place tomorrow (Tuesday 1 August).

Spanish giants Atletico Madrid visit the Amex for Albion’s final pre-season fixture on Sunday (6 August) at 4pm.

All those involved with the club will be saddened to learn of the death of Ed Bassford, who lost his fight against cancer yesterday.

Mr Bassford was a staunch Falmer campaigner in the early part of the century. He attend many of the planning inquiry meetings as an observer.

He was also a founder of the Seagulls Party, a political organisation formed in the hope of giving the stadium campaign a wider audience.

Mr Bassford was also very much involved in the Robert Eaton Memorial Fund and was a moderator on the popular Albion message board North Stand Chat.
