Brooklyn punks Surfbort set for Brighton!

Surfbort

Surfbort

The Latest Music Bar in Manchester Street, Brighton will be absolutely buzzing on Saturday 9th February as the Brooklyn, New York four-piece punk band Surfbort will be in attendance along with Brighton’s noise merchants DITZ.

Surfbort are made up of David Head (guitar), Alex Kilgore (guitar), Sean Powell (drums) and led by Dani Miller (vocals) and they channel their inspiration from the 80’s punk scene to produce rousing, explosive music.

Surfbort

Surfbort’s live experience is visceral and confrontational. Their feedback-strafed, guitar-shredding punk music says no to a digital age full of intolerance; they radiate love and friendship. All are welcome in the Surfbort Freak Family!

Fresh off a tour with The Black Lips after playing at Coachella, the band released ‘Bort to Death’ a raw 4-track 7” on Hozac Records and ‘Romance’ a dreamy 2-track flexi on Cult Records. An album entitled ‘Friendship Music’ followed and on 8th March they will be dropping a 4-track 7” entitled ‘Billy’.

Surfbort

In the last three years they have supported acts such as Amyl & The Sniffers, The Dickies, Thee Oh Sees, Fat White Family, White Fang, Martin Rev, The Garden, Tijuana Panthers, The Mystery Lights, Tomorrows Tulips, Sunflower Bean, DIIV, GOGGS, The Dune Rats, Leftover Crack, Meatbodies, Ex-Cult, Hinds etc.

A favorite among local artists, it is no wonder when Julian Casablancas caught wind of the Surfbort’s electrifying energy, he signed them to Cult Records. Stay tuned for more from Cult Records and the band.

Support on the night comes from Brighton’s finest DITZ.

After growing notoriety for loud, sweaty shows and tearing it up at small venues across the UK, DITZ fill their explosive sets with hazy, overpowering noise and fluctuating distortion. They released ‘Seeking Arrangement’ to critical acclaim and we are eagerly awaiting the release of their next single, ‘Gayboy’.
