A Kemp Town man has appeared in court charged with a robbery at Duke’s Mound in Brighton.
Matthew Knight, 20, from nearby Percival Terrace, Brighton, is accused of robbing a man on November 2.
He appeared at Lewes Magistrates’ Court on Saturday where he was remanded to re-appear at Lewes Crown Court on January 8.
Knight was arrested on Friday 6 November along with two men from Brighton who remain on bail while inquiries continue.
Over a period of three weeks there has been a rise in the number of robberies in the area of Duke’s Mound.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Those in the area after dark are reminded to be aware of their personal safety and call 999 if they experience or witness an incident.”
