Police have issued a new photograph today (Sunday 31 October) of Arthur Jones, 73,  who went missing from his home in Hove on Wednesday (27 October).

Arthur was last seen by his wife, Jean, at their home in Mountbatten Court, Ingram Crescent, at 3.30pm.

When Mrs Jones returned home at 5pm Arthur was gone.

Inspector Catherine O’Connor said: “We have carried out exhaustive searches and inquiries and made previous media appeals to try to find Mr Jones but so far there have been no sightings of him and we are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare.”

Arthur Jones has been missing from his home in Hove, since October 27

Arthur is described as 5ft 10in tall, with a thick-set build and short grey spiky hair.

He was wearing a three-quarter length blue raincoat, black corduroy trousers, a grey jumper with a striped shirt underneath and black and white trainers.

Inspector O’Connor added: “Although he did not leave with anything to support him for a long period, for example, he had only a small amount of cash, he does have a bus pass, and has recently been talking of the Doncaster and North Lincolnshire areas, where he used to live.

“It is just possible that he may have been seeking to make his way there and we are carrying out local inquiries in those areas too.

“We have no reason to think he has or will become a victim of crime, and he is physically able, but he does suffer from Alzheimer’s and is therefore very vulnerable.

“We do hope that local people, or indeed anyone further afield, will have spotted him in the last four days and will be able to help find him.”

Anyone with any information or knowledge as to Arthur’s whereabouts is asked to contact Sussex Police immediately on 0845 6070999.
