Police in Brighton are looking for a 33-year old local man, Gareth Jamieson, who is wanted for recall to prison.
Jamieson was described as white, 5ft 10in tall, of heavy build, with brown eyes and brown hair. He is believed to have a beard.
He was jailed for 18 months for having an offensive weapon in August last year and was released on licence last month.
Sussex Police said that he was recalled to prison soon afterwards for failing to attend his appointments with his supervising probation officer.
Jamieson is not thought to pose a direct threat to the public but anyone who sees him is asked to dial 999.
