A woman has been charged with attacking a bouncer in the centre of Brighton and shouting racist abuse at another.

Sussex Police said: “Police were called to Yates’s in West Street at around 12.30am on Friday 2 May to a report that a woman was causing problems for door staff.

“Kayleigh Church, 26, of Blois Road, Lewes, has been charged with racially or religiously aggravated common assault and racially or religiously aggravated intentional harassment, alarm and distress.”

The force said that Church had been released on bail to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 17 July.
