Campaign literature urging people to support Simon Kirby’s bid to be re-elected as the Tory MP for Brighton Kemptown has been mocked for featuring a photo of the wrong constituency
A Facebook page for the RoadTrip2015 Brighton Kemptown event features a picture of sunny Brighton beach – but to the west of the pier, which is firmly in neighbouring Brighton Pavilion.

RoadTrip2015 is a grassroots youth campaign initiative for the Conservatives which is inviting supporters from all over the country to key seats.
Mr Kirby said: “Lots of people are coming to Brighton on 30 August I am told because I am a popular and effective local MP.
“I’m always happy to show people around Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven. It’s a great place.
“People will be coming down to listen to local people’s views. I’m always keen to hear from everyone.
“It’s quite funny that local Labour activists don’t know where the boundaries lie have the cheek to criticise others from far away.
“They would be much better off joining me in campaigning for the issues that really matter to the city like our new hospital, travellers and coming up with a robust city plan.
“I’ll be showing our many visitors how fantastic Brighton Kemptown is and where it’s boundaries lie. I’ll happily make the same offer to any Labour candidates who are new to the City – I’m here to help everyone.”
This is not the first time a Brighton parliamentary candidate has come a cropper over boundaries.
In May, Labour candidate for Brighton Kemptown was pictured canvassing outside the Walmer Castle pub in Hanover – which is also the wrong side of the boundary with Brighton Pavilion, by a matter of yards.

Far more important is Kirby’s hypocrisy when he complains about the council considering new housing being built, having happily voted for changes to the law to tie the council and local people’s hands. Also, what about his lack lustre support for changes at the Royal Sussex, which he seems to have discovered as we have become close to an election.
