A driver who went the wrong way up the ramp at Brighton Marina has been banned from the road.
Jamie Pope, 34, was arrested by Sussex Police after officers saw him driving out of Brighton Marina on the inbound ramp at 3.45am on Sunday 7 June.
Pope, of Midhurst Close, Crawley, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen for analysis when he appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ court on Tuesday 30 June.
He was banned from driving for 17 months, fined £120 and ordered to pay £235 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
Sussex Police has been running its annual month-long summer crackdown on drink and drug driving.
The force said that Pope, who was suspected to have been drink driving, was one of 24 people so far to have been convicted since the start of June.
