A horse held up drivers heading down the A23 into Brighton this morning (Monday 13 July).

The runaway nag went against the flow of the traffic, trotting north up the southbound side of the road.

The incident happened between Pyecombe and Hickstead shortly before 7am.

The horse has safely left the road and the delays have eased as the rush hour gets under way.
